Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is a strategic project which aims to improve the existing public transport network in Amman and Amman-Zarqa highway. In this section, two bridges are to be constructed and impovement and modifications to existing pavement layers are to be carried out. The bridges are composed of RC piers, retaining walls, approach decks, restressed girders, and other structural and non-structural elements.
CORINTHI acted as a third-party in evaluating and verifying the integrity of constructed structures. Two main studies were carried out for two main structural elements; prestressed bridge girders and main piers to; define and identify the occured damages, determine the severity and volume of defined damages, and recommend proper, cost-efficient engineering solutions.
